The Norwalt Electrical Controls Engineer designs and delivers custom electrical control systems for engineer-to-order automated machinery, collaborating closely with customers, mechanical engineers, and project managers. This role is responsible for creating electrical schematics, bills of materials, and complete controls documentation, as well as coordinating panel layout and machine wiring. The engineer programs and integrates PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, vision systems, and robotics to ensure machines are fully tested prior to shipment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in industrial controls, CAD-based electrical design, and PLC programming, and thrives in a collaborative, custom manufacturing environment.
2-5 years’ experience in plc’s/servo programming. Candidates to have a minimum 2-year degree in electrical engineering technology and proficient in AutoCAD, MS-Office, Allen Bradley RSLogix plc, panel view, Cognex and Keyence Vision systems.
The Norwalt Service Technician provides on-site customer support for the installation, troubleshooting, rebuilding, and maintenance of custom automated machinery. This role involves extensive travel (60%+ including overnight travel). Works closely with the Service Manager and Director of Operations. Responsibilities include rebuilding machine components, supporting machine lineups and installations, troubleshooting customer issues, completing service and expense reports, and advising customers on spare parts and equipment upgrades. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with automation machinery, the ability to read pneumatic and electrical schematics, and the flexibility to travel overnight as needed. A valid Driver’s License and good driving record is required.
