Custom Assembly Machines

We’ll Build the Solution for Your Product

The best results never come by playing it safe. That’s why, at Norwalt, we put our skills to the test and build custom assembly machines from the ground up. While it’s possible to make products “fit” within standard machines, we believe that your product (and your bottom line) deserve much more.

It Starts With Fresh Perspective

We don’t look at things conventionally. We might take an existing concept and turn it on its head. Or, we might look at a process and see that it would be more efficient to do it backwards. For every product and industry, we find new ways to take what’s out there and make it better. This results in a fully custom machine that not only serves a purpose, but overcomes a very specific challenge or problem unique to your product.

We Build Turnkey and User-Friendly Machines

While the strategy behind your machine may be highly complex, the operation is simple and hassle-free. We design our assembly machines to be robust and simple to operate, minimizing future maintenance work or mechanical intervention.
We specialize in turnkey machinery that will address all of your production needs. Our machines come in all shapes and sizes and can incorporate two, ten or more components. Depending on your needs, we can build either a continuous motion or indexing machine. We can also integrate various additional operations into your machinery, including:
  • Decorating
  • Leak testing
  • Induction welding
  • Conduction welding
  • Ultrasonic welding
  • Lining Labeling
  • Vision inspection
  • Filling

Our assembly machines are designed to:

  • Assemble at speeds ranging from 15-1,200 parts per minute
  • Deliver unparalleled accuracy and parts handling during production
  • Require extremely low maintenance
  • Ensure minimal wear and tear on components
  • Provide easy and convenient troubleshooting
  • Include multi-operational systems coupled together in a monoblock platform
  • Deliver superior OEE, energy efficiency and high-volume output

Puck Loaders/Depuckers

Keep Efficiency in Motion

Certain products such as deodorants and shampoos require specific orientation for filling. When this is the case, our innovative, high-speed puck loader and depucker systems are the perfect solution.
These systems run at very high speeds while delivering optimal OEE. Rather than relying on gravity and other outdated methods, we use advanced tooling to craft the smartest strategy possible. Our puckers/depuckers can work with odd sizes, irregular/asymmetrical shapes and unique designs. There are simply no boundaries in what these systems can achieve.

We guarantee the following with our pucker/depucker machines:
  • Speeds of over 600 ppm
  • Simple push-button changeovers
  • Custom design and build from our facility

Robotic Integration

For Exceptional Part Handling

It’s one thing to build a fast machine (we’ll be honest, that’s the easy part). It’s another to conquer part handling (i.e., getting the product to and from the robot at very high speeds.)
This is one of our standout strengths at Norwalt. We know that without consistent and accurate movement, robotics is all show and no go. That’s why we prioritize both speed and superior part handling when designing your machinery.

We can integrate robotics into your layer packers or larger custom assembly system. Such integrations will provide a number of benefits, including:
  • Improved cost efficiency
  • Reduced labor costs
  • Greater operational flexibility with minimal changeover
  • Repeatable motions
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Versatile uses (repurpose later for other programs)

Assembly Options:

  • 2D and 3D vision for location and parts assembly
  • Force sensors for difficult assemblies
  • Vision inspection after assembly for quality assurance

Additional Benefits:

  • Endless options and features. We design according to your product, long-term goals and more. We can also build collaborative robots that will work side-by-side with operators for a semi-auto solution.
  • Unmatched precision. As your machinery runs at high speed, your robotics will stay one step ahead to deliver flawless performance.
  • Increased throughput. Your custom robots will move more product at higher speed for maximum throughput.
  • Handles difficult motions with ease. Our robotics take dexterity to a whole new level. Your robotics will take otherwise difficult, time-consuming motions and make them look easy.
