The Good Outweighs the Bad

Automated assembly machinery has made mass production faster and more efficient, which is beneficial to most individuals. On the other hand, this is not the cause for companies that are creating products with automated machines. For them, There are some disadvantages to assembly machines, but in most cases it is far outweighed by the advantages.

One disadvantage of an automated assembly machine is that technology has its limits. There are certain tasks that technology will not be able to automate.

The initial costs of an automated assembly machine can be high which is another disadvantage. An initial investment is required for the automation of machine.

While there are some disadvantages to owning automated machines, the advantages outweigh the bad. Automated assembly can improve the work environment for employees. Tasks that involve hard physical work or tedious work are automated so they don’t need to be performed by employees anymore. Additionally, many tasks that are carried out in dangerous environments can be automated.

Some tasks can be incredibly difficult for humans to complete. Handling heavy or large loads, manipulating tiny objects, or the requirement to make products very quickly or slowly are some tasks that are usually beyond human capabilities. Machines can easily replace humans for these jobs.

Automated assembly provides lower labor costs and provides faster production. They can also incorporate quality checks and verifications to reduce the number of out-of-tolerance parts being produced while allowing for statistical process control that will allow for a more consistent and uniform product.
